The natural historian Theophrastos has stated that the roots of the perfume will be used to obtain this perfume. Dioscorides also stated that the roots of the perfume will be used during the construction process and this should be done by burning it. We are reading from Theophrastos that the roots of motherwort can also be added to this mixture when creating the irises plant as the main ingredient of perfume, and that the duration of perfume use can be extended if it is done in this way. Theophrastos stated in another passage of the same work that the perfume mixtures contained in the irises plant are better and fresher compared to other perfumes
