The plant known as frankincense is also known as “olibanum”. The essential oil of the plant is gum resin. Frankincense is a preferred raw material for making perfumes from Ancient times to the present day. Frankincense trees have clear white tears flowing through longitudinal incisions made in the bark. After these ingredients are collected, they turn into a milky-white color. Because of its color, it has also been used in many languages to mean this. Frankincense, which mainly functions as incense, has taken its place in Egyptian perfumes in a significant amount.
