It is obtained from the fruit of a prickly tree. The oil, which is abundant in the Nile valley, has taken its place as a popular oil used in ancient times, especially by the Hellenes, Romans and Egyptians. The fruit is oval in shape, but has a hard shell, so that its core is not crushed, the processing of fat intensifies very intensively. It has a sweet smell.
